The Collaborative Research Centre 1683 pursues, under the guiding principle “Research goes ahead,” the systematic development and institutional anchoring of sustainability concepts in research. The aim is not only to address these concepts at a theoretical level, but to integrate them sustainably into research and organizational practice. The achievement of these goals is ensured through the development of a comprehensive sustainability strategy and the establishment of an internal monitoring system that guarantees systematic, continuous evaluation and adaptive updating of the measures. This process is carried out in regular exchange with the central structures and institutions of Ruhr University Bochum within the framework of the guiding concept “Sustainable RUB 2030.”
