Merita Australien

Prof. Merita Tafili spent four weeks as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Western Australia in Perth and the University of Melbourne.

During several seminars, two masterclasses and an invited lecture for the Australian Geomechanics Society, she presented current research on sustainable geotechnical engineering, advanced constitutive modelling and foundations for renewable energy infrastructure.

The visit also provided an opportunity to introduce the research activities of our Collaborative Research Centre, including its work on bio-based adaptation of existing foundations for new buildings. Discussions with researchers in Perth and Melbourne initiated new research ideas and potential collaborations in this area.

The exchange strengthens the international visibility of the SFB and opens new perspectives for future joint research activities.
