Student internship at the Chair of Concrete Structures

12.02.2026

Praktikum 1

From January 19 to 23, we welcomed Luana Spatacean, a 12th-grade student at a high school in Hagen, for a one-week internship at the Chair of Concrete Structures.

During her time at RUB, she gained insights into the core areas of the chair, attended bachelor's lectures, and learned about the research of the CRC 1683 at the structural tesing hall, KIBKON.

As part of a bachelor's thesis, she accompanied the further processing of test specimens with different strengths. These were sawn, scanned, and evaluated as digital 3D models before being tested to failure in a compression test. The aim of the investigations was to analyze the influence of different cutting methods on the surface quality and to evaluate their effects on the results of the compression tests.

We are delighted that Luana is interested in our field of research and hope that her internship has given her exciting insights into the work of  the CRC.
