On September 18 and 19, 2025, the Quarterly Meeting of the CRC 1683 took place at the Zentrum für das Engineering Smarter Produkt-Service Systeme (ZESS) on the Mark 51°7 campus in Bochum.

Almost 80 scientists gathered on site and online to exchange information on the current status of their research. In presentations from 13 subprojects, the doctoral students presented their research progress for the first time and discussed it with the group. In addition, Prof. Waimann was warmly welcomed to SFB 1683 with subproject B05. The program was supplemented by working group meetings on the four interaction chains, which intensified the networking of the subprojects and promoted joint developments.
A special highlight was the demonstrator exhibition in the ZESS production hall, where scientists from the Lehrstuhl für Produktionssysteme presented their research work in the field of Industry 4.0.
The event concluded with an online lecture by Prof. Patrick Teuffel on “ReCreate – Lessons Learned,” which presented exciting perspectives on the reuse of precast concrete elements and offered insights into the EU Horizon 2020 project Reusing precast concrete for a circular economy (ReCreate).
