Merita Tafili was honored with the Bright Spark Award at the 3rd International Conference on Energy Geotechnics (ICEGT 2025).

She received the award for her lecture“Heat, Time and Million Cycles: Modeling the Foundation for Tomorrow's Energy”. The conference took place under the auspices of ISSMGE TC308 Energy Geotechnics and brought together leading scientists from around the world.
In addition to her keynote speech, Merita was also involved in several technical presentations and, together with international research teams, presented the latest developments in the field of thermal-mechanical modeling of soils and energy pile systems.
Merita is sub-project leader and head of the graduate school in the Collaborative Research Center 1683.
